Brink: Clan e tornei aggiornamento per le statistiche

La Bethesda e la Splash Damage oggi assieme alla patch, hanno pubblicato diverse informazioni sulle nuove funzionalità del sito per le statistiche.

Forse sono arrivati un po tardi perchè il gioco ha perso molti giocatori e sicuramente era meglio aggiungere queste modifiche pochi mesi dopo il rilascio del gioco, però rimane comunque un ottimo aggiornamento per i pochi che sono rimasti o per quelli che ogni tanto tornano.

We’re close to releasing a comprehensive update for Brink, bringing full clan support, ladders and tournaments to all versions of the game. This update is currently in the final stages of testing and will be pushed out to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and the PC version of Brink as soon as that is complete.

Clans & Tournaments Beta Site

The centerpiece of Brink’s clan features will be the launch of the beta site for clans and tournaments at http://battle.brinkthegame.com, featuring several new sections and shiny new functionality.

Create a Clan

Brink Clan Profile

First and foremost, you’ll now be able to create and manage your own Brink Clan right on the website. Once you’ve selected a name for your Clan and registered it, it’ll get a dedicated profile page displaying its members as well as a breakdown of clan statistics like its current ranking, wins and losses, and upcoming Clan matches. From there, you’ll also be able to invite others to join your squad, toggle your Clan’s recruitment status, review applications of players applying for membership, and manage the privileges available to each of your Clan members.

Global Clan Ladder

Clan support is great, but we thought it’d be even better if you could challenge other clans and organize clan matches, too. For this purpose, we’ve got the Global Clan Ladder. It’ll display all of the Clans in Brink arranged by their current ranking and make it easy to find other Clans at similar skill levels.

From there, Clan leaders will be able to challenge other Clans to Clan Matches. Once a time for a match has been agreed, Brink will automatically create a match at the appropriate time and issue invites to all participating players. And if you happen to be playing Brink, you’ll be reminded of any upcoming matches that you’re scheduled to play.

The outcome of the match will affect the ranking of both participating clans. The winning team will see its ranking increased, while the losing outfit will drop a few points.

All matches on the Global Clan Ladder will be 5 vs. 5 and utilize Brink’s full map pool.

Event Ladders

In addition to the Ladder, we’ll also be able to run tournaments via the website, referred to as Event Ladders. These events will often have customized rule sets, such as smaller team sizes and very specific map pools. You’ll be able to register your Clan for these right on the site and, much like regular Clan Matches, Brink will create game sessions for each match automatically and send invites to the players. Winning an Event Ladder is no small feat, and if you make it all the way to the end, you’ll net a trophy to show off on your Clan’s profile page.

To take advantage of all this cool new functionality once the update goes live, including creating clans and playing in tournaments, you’ll first need to have an account on the Brink site. To do this, you will need your unique access code, which you can find within the main menu for Brink, under Online Stats. The code will link your player account to the site, which will feed information like your clan status and upcoming matches back into Brink. You’ll also get access to all the other great features already available on the site right now, including detailed statistics for your characters, summaries of your most recent matches, and much more. In short, if you haven’t made an account yet, now’s most definitely the time!

Game Updates

Finally, we’ll also be releasing game updates for all three versions of Brink alongside the Clans & Tournaments update. We’ll have more information on what’s in these very soon, so keep checking back!

Brink: Nuovo aggiornamento

Come avevamo annunciato in questa news la Splash Damage ha rilasciato un nuovo aggiornamento per tutte le piattaforme di Brink.

Sono stati risolti diversi bug e sono state aggiunte nuove funzionalità che serviranno per il nuovo sito delle statistiche.

Come per tutte le altre patch la potete scaricare da steam per la versione PC e sulle console come sempre.

Rage: Aspetti Tecnici

Rage per la prima volta mostra al pubblico il nuovissimo motore grafico Id Tech 5 che andremo a vedere insieme in questa news.

L’Id Software grazie a John Carmack e un team di sviluppatori esperti ha sempre realizzato motori grafici di ottima qualità, che vengono anche utilizzati in titoli molto importati anche dopo anni dal loro sviluppo. ( La serie di Call of Duty utilizza una versione modificata del vecchio motore grafico della id )

Ma dopo l’acquisto da parte della Zenix Max ( Bethesda ) i nuovi motori grafici saranno solo utilizzati per giochi che avranno come publisher la Bethesda.

Quindi troveremo questo nuovo motore grafico anche su Doom 4 e altri titoli che usciranno nei prossimi anni.

Ambienti:

Possiamo trovare ambienti molto grandi con diversi particolari che sfruttano la tecnologia delle mega-texture. ( già utilizzata su Enemy Territory Quake Wars )

Come vedete nella immagine qui sotto è possibile girare in ambienti molto dettagliati, il gioco è stato sviluppato per fornire la stessa qualità su tutte e tre le piattaforme

Alcuni giocatori hanno trovato alcuni problemi nel caricamento delle texture se uno spostava la visuale molto velocemente, ma sembra che sia stato risolto con i nuovi driver e la patch.

Animazioni:

Rage utilizza le animazioni a 60 Fps, rispetto alle solite animazioni a 30 Fps non ho notato una grossa differenza nel gameplay generale ma se uno guarda la qualità delle animazioni dei nemici, le espressioni dei personaggi e la guida dei mezzi la differenza si vede.

Le animazioni sono sempre diverse e non ripetitive, i nemici non si muovono sempre nello stesso modo e non fanno sempre le stesse azioni in questo modo non si sa mai come sparare o cosa aspettarsi dai nemici.

Dettagli negli ambienti e personaggi:

Nei vari livelli e ambienti di Rage ho trovato pocchissime volte modelli e strutture ripetute,l’Id Software ha avuto molto tempo per sviluppare il loro nuovo titolo e hanno fatto un ottimo lavoro sul design degli ambienti e dei vari personaggi che sono sempre diversi.

Ultimamente nei giochi possiamo trovare diversi ambienti dove vengono ripetuti gli stessi modelli per risparmiare tempo e soldi nello sviluppo.

Non cè la possibilità di distruggere gli ambienti come su Battlefield 3 ma non ho mai sentito il bisogno di queste nuove funzionalità realistiche su dei giochi classici come quelli della Id Software, probabilmente il motore grafico subirà altre modifiche nei prossimi giochi ma comunque sul lato single player è un ottimo motore grafico che riesce a unire i dettagli a ambienti molto grandi con animazioni realistiche.

Per la parte multiplayer è difficile dare un giudizio perchè le gare con le macchine e nelle missioni co-op hanno un gameplay diverso da giochi più veloci come quake o wolfenstein dove possiamo trovare anche tanti giocatori tutti insieme.

Rage è un titolo nuovo che riporta le vecchie tradizioni degli Fps che rimangono comunque divertenti e differenti dai soliti giochi più conosciuti.

Ieri sera l’Id Software assieme alla Bethesda ha rilasciato un nuovo aggiornamento che risolve diversi problemi su Rage.

Qui sotto potete leggere le modifiche in inglese:

  • Implemented workaround for AMD driver crash right after intro cinematic on Win 7 32-bit systems.
  • Disabled UBOs because they are causing animation issues with AMD drivers. Don’t allow swap-tear to be enabled on AMD while the extension is not exposed because it may crash.
  • Support for new video settings: “texture cache”, “vsync”, and ”anisotropic filter”
  • Automatically adjust vt_maxPPF based on the number of available cores.
  • Improved performance for SLI cards when GPU transcode is enabled.
  • Fix for GPU Transcoding option being disabled after exiting gameplay.
  • Added safe mode to restore video settings to default values.
  • Allow g_fov to be changed from the RAGE launch options in Steam.
  • Server now forwards text chat from clients to all other clients while in-game.
